St. John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) has a history of medicinal use dating back to ancient Greece, where it was used to treat a range of illnesses, including various “nervous disorders.” Today it is most widely known as a herbal treatment for mild to moderate depression. St. John’s wort also has antibacterial and antiviral properties and, because of its anti-inflammatory properties, has been used topically to help heal wounds and burns. Damiana (Turnera diffusa) has a long history of use in traditional herbal medicine throughout the world. It is thought to act as an aphrodisiac, antidepressant, tonic, and diuretic. DETOX[ ginger ]
with dandelion root, nettle leaf, and elderflower Full of probiotics and enzymes, kombucha is naturally detoxifying. We amplify this effect in our Detox blend with Dandelion Root, Nettle Leaf and Elderflower.
Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale) is a natural diuretic. Unlike other natural and synthetic diuretics, dandelion is a source of potassium – a nutrient often lost through the use of diuretics. Dandelion roots and leaves contain high levels of vitamins A, C, D, and B complex as well as iron, magnesium, zinc, and potassium. Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica) helps cleanse the body of toxins and wastes. Nettle leaves can relieve fluid retention, bladder infections, stones and gravel. It gently stimulates the lymphatic system, seeming to enhance the excretion of wastes through the kidneys. Nettle leaves promote the elimination of uric acid from joints with a gentle, alkalizing diuretic activity. Thus its use is indicated in most types of joint diseases and doubly so in degenerative conditions. Elder Flower (Sambucus canadensis) The European elder grows up to 30 feet, is found throughout Europe, Asia, North Africa, and has been naturalized in the United States. All parts of the elderberry plant have been used medicinally for centuries. Elder flowers are a strong blood cleanser and encourage perspiration which makes them especially effective clearing the skin. |

with passionflower, oatstraw, and skullcap Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is a perennial climbing vine with a sturdy woody stem that grows to a length of nearly 32 feet. It has been used for centuries to relieve muscle tension, lower blood pressure and to calm anxiety. It does so by increasing the levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter. This decreases the activity of nerve cells in the brain, causing relaxation.
Oatstraw (Avena sativa) is still used today in Europe to strengthen constitutionally weak nervous systems. It can also help fight anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. Oat straw also has a high concentration of the trace mineral silica. Silica is very beneficial for your bones, hair, nails, and skin. Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) is native to North America, but is now widely cultivated in Europe and other areas of the world. It has long been used as an effective therapy for anxiety, nervous tension, and convulsions. Because of its calming effects on the nervous and musculoskeletal system, it was considered at one time to be a remedy for rabies. Skullcap is also know to “quiet the mind chatter”: those racing thoughts that keep you from falling asleep. |
