Kombucharista and Production Assistant
One position - two roles: Farmers Market Ambassador and Brewing AssistantLocal kombucha brewery is hiring! This position has two aspects. Please only apply if you are interested/feeling confident about thriving in both. Being the friendly, helpful face of a local kombucha brewery at the PSU farmers market and assist in brewing and bottling the product.
Schedule: starting May every Saturday 7am-3:30pm
KOMBUCHARISTA JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load in / load out of product and market booth. You must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
You also must have a big enough car (think Subaru Forester or larger) to transport booth setup.
Customer service: Selling kombucha, answering questions about fermentation/brewing, and be the friendly, helpful face of a local, small kombucha brewery! *PLEASE NOTE* As of now the booth is scheduled to open in May but will most likely still have a lot of safety regulations in place. Applicant must be comfortable with social distancing guidelines enforced by farmers market management until lifted.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ QUALITIES
BREWING ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help in production of all products, bottled and kegged kombucha, kombucha starter kits, and candy. It will also involve a significant amount of cleaning work, cleaning kegs and brewing equipment. This is a part-time position Monday/Tuesday from 10-3pm.
SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ QUALITIES
Pay is $13 per hour (plus tips Saturday’s)

- Knowledge of brewing and fermenting processes is a plus.
- Have a reliable, large enough car and a smart phone.
- Basic understanding of math, being able to give exact change, etc.
BREWING ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Creative thinking; able to find solutions to production problems and skilled in performing minor repairs (maintaining kegs and other smaller equipment)
- Perform preventive maintenance and ensure equipment is ready and clean for production
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
